Alexandra Hospital is into disruptive innovation. It is what we encourage to expand our mindsets to see beyond the ordinary and to achieve excellence. To us, innovation is defined as hard work coupled with discipline and resilience. We are always on the lookout for opportunities and challenging the norms. This allows us to keep trying and experimenting. We are looking for Alexians who are accountable, reliable, and most importantly embody our daring culture to join us in redesigning healthcare with and for humanity.
Our Healthcare Redesign team has led several projects with improving and redesigning the way we work in Alexandra Hospital. In 2021, they piloted the use of Google Glasses in our Urgent Care Centre (UCC). The clinicians were able to remotely view the patients in real time through the Google Glasses worn by the UCC nurses.
In another initiative project, we converted one of our wards into a smart ward. The smart wards come with a vital sign sensor under the beds that can monitor the patient's heart rate, respiratory rate, and weight.
